Paper accepted by the International Journal of Procurement Management

The paper “Strategic Procurement Mechanism Design: Enhancing Supplier Competition and Cost Efficiency in Supply Chains” by Dr. Christoph Pfeiffer and Dr. Allan Ingraham (Secretariat International, USA) has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Procurement Management following peer review.

The paper shows how procurement organisations manage the transition from bilateral negotiations to mechanism-based awards – along the three prerequisites of competition, comparability and credibility. It compares auction formats against the Cost Equivalence Theorem, develops a quantitative lot-sizing framework, and shows how qualitative differences between bids can be monetised and made comparable via a comparison-price approach.
